Tamil Community Centre
The Tamil Community Centre will be a new, purpose built community and cultural centre serving the GTA’s Tamil Community. The facility includes a 400 person auditorium, a gymnasium, meeting rooms, dance studios, administrative spaces, a large reception area with a courtyard atrium and 10,000 ft² of cultural programs including a library, archive, reading rooms and exhibition space.
The site also includes a soccer field, playground, community gardens, an interpretive walk and parking for 100 cars. The project has been developed in close engagement with not only the Tamil community, but many First Nations communities as well.
